About Candace
Candace Whitman is the author and/or illustrator of thirteen children's books and most recently is the designer of a line of greeting cards for children and grown-ups. Her art training includes a BA in The History of Art with distinction from Yale University. For studio training, Candace continued her studies after college in New York City at the Art Student's League, Parsons School of Design, the School of Visual Arts, and that National Academy of Design.
Her training as a writer came mainly through her stint as an advertising copywriter for J. Walter Thompson advertising. Candace also taught art many years in an elementary school, and was privileged to later help train art teachers in the graduate and undergraduate art education program at New York University, where she had earned her Master of Art and Art Education.
Hearing a call to the church, in 2011 Candace graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and is ordained in the Presbyterian (PCUSA) Church. She currently serves as pastor for a wonderful faith community on an island in New York State,

She is delighted to be able to spend her week fulfilling her passion for God's church and her passion for art and for writing!
